Save The Date

Calling all children's choirs!  On Saturday, March 2, 2024, NPM Cleveland will gather singers in grades 3 and up with unchanged voices for the fourth annual Diocesan Children's Choir Festival.  Our guest clinician this year, Michael Bower, oversees a thriving choral program for all ages at the Cathedral of St. Agnes in Rockville Centre, NY.  Mr. Bower is sure to be a source of inspiration for young singers and their directors!

For this one-day festival, singers will need to learn the music in advance at their parishes.  The musical selections for the liturgy will be coming soon!

If you think you may be interested in participating, please go to THIS PAGE for detailed information or e-mail Angiela Bak at choirbak@gmail.com soon, and she will keep you informed of the music to be learned, registration information, and any other updates.  She will also be happy to answer any questions.

Please join us for a day of dynamic learning, beautiful music, and new friendships.

Recent Events

Music is an integral part of the liturgy and pastoral musicians throughout the diocese are doing their part to make the celebrations more meaningful.

Two longtime pastoral musicians in the diocese - Greg Heiselman and Herb Dillahunt (chapter Diretor) - are retiring and their years of service were celebrated at a recent potluck dinner at St. Clarence Parish in North Olmsted. Special guest for the evening was Auxiliary Bishop Michael Woost who also serves as interim director of the diocesan Office for Worship. The bishop works closely with pastoral musicians when planning special liturgies.

Here is a report on the Celebratory Dinner

As noted above, our Chapter Director - Herb Dillahunt - is retiring and will no longer be director.  Here is a farewell Letter from him.  We wish him all the best in the future and thank him for the dedicated leadership he provided during his 6 yeas as director.

About Us

The National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM) fosters the art of musical liturgy. The members of NPM serve the Catholic Church in the United States as musicians, clergy, liturgists, and other leaders of prayer.

?

The Cleveland Chapter is comprised of primarily church musicians in the greater Cleveland, Ohio area.  While authorized by the national organization and sponsored in part by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, it is open to musicians and friends of all faith backgrounds.  In addition to sponsoring gatherings, workshops and musical events, the chapter is a source of substitute musicians and a resource for all.
